This project involved the complete customization and branding of a Moodle platform to create an engaging, visually appealing, and user-friendly e-learning environment. The platform was tailored to meet the needs of a client focused on providing a vibrant educational experience for young learners. The project emphasized creating a unique design language, implementing competency-based learning frameworks, and enhancing user role management for a seamless experience.

Key Deliverables

1. Custom Branding & Design

  • Developed a visually engaging theme featuring bright colors and a superhero mascot to resonate with the target audience of young learners.
  • Customized SCSS for typography and styling, integrating a playful font ("Gagalin") to align with the brand’s vibrant identity.
  • Designed a user-friendly interface with clear navigation for students, parents, and administrators.

2. Competency-Based Frameworks

  • Implemented a structured competency framework to support personalized learning objectives.
  • Included competencies such as language conventions, sentence structure, and text comprehension to align with educational standards.
  • Enabled easy editing and management of competencies for educators.

3. Role Management Enhancements

  • Configured a custom "Parent Role" for better parental oversight and engagement.
  • Simplified permissions and contextual assignments for efficient role management within the system.

4. Course Setup & Grading Flexibility

  • Designed intuitive course tiles to encourage exploration, such as “Free Fun Stuff” and “Home Language.”
  • Configured grading settings with various aggregation methods to accommodate different evaluation strategies.
